Henley Christmas
Saturday evening we celebrated Christmas at my sister, Renda's house. Everybody was there together and we had a great time. We had broiled shrimp, boiled shrimp, Greg's famous ham, hashbrown casserole, green bean casserole, pecan pie, peach pie, I could go on and on. I am so thankful that we were all able to be together. I am thankful for each person in my family!!!

CHRIST IS CHRISTMAS
"Fear not, for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people, for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-11
I want to take this opportunity to wish each reader of this blog a very Merry Christmas. No, I didn't wish you "Happy Holidays" because I am not celebrating a holiday. My family and I are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago. And while the virgin birth of this Child is truly cause to celebrate, the real blessing to me is His resurrection. As John the Baptist said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29)." That baby born so long ago came from heaven to earth for one purpose, and that was to hang on a cross to take the sin of the world, and that includes you and me, upon Himself so that one day we could spend eternity with Him in Heaven. The Bible tells us that salvation is a free gift to all who will ask Him into their heart. If you have never invited Jesus into your heart, I urge you to pray a simple prayer acknowledging Jesus as the Son of God, admitting that you have sinned, and asking Jesus to come into your heart and forgive you of your sins. Please begin to regularly attend a Bible believing church where you can learn more about God and His plan for your life. Read the Bible and pray daily, asking God to guide you in everything you do, and HE WILL! Yes, they are good tidings of great joy!!!! May God bless you!

Caragan & Cade's Christmas Program
Sunday morning we attended the production of "365 Days of Christmas Each Year" at Eldon First Assembly of God, where my sister Renda and her husband Greg, as well as my mom and dad, attend. Caragan and Cade both did a FABULOUS job in the program! Caragan even had a speaking part, although I couldn't get a picture of her because another kid stood right between Caragan and me. I am so proud of both of them! Love you Gommie-girl and Cadey-boy!!!
7th Grade Band Concert
THAT DIDN'T TAKE LONG
It took less than 24 hours for gas prices in Eldon to go from $1.43 per gallon BACK UP TO $1.55 per gallon. As of Friday, December 19th, gas was $1.55 when it had been $1.43 on Thursday. Thank heavens I filled my tank Thursday night. I know in the scheme of things it doesn't make much of a difference, BUT IT SURE MAKES ME FEEL BETTER!!!!!

GASOLINE PRICE OBSESSION
I admit it, I'm like most people, OBSESSED with gas prices. Every price increase, price decrease, becomes a topic of conversation. Yes, I do have a boring life! Well, as of yesterday, the price of gasoline in Eldon, Missouri, is . . . drumroll please . . . . . . $1.43 a gallon. I know, I can't believe it either. I truly never thought we would see gas this low again. I don't know how long it will last, but I'll take every day of cheap gas I can get!

HOW LOW CAN IT GO?????????
For my out-of-town friends and family, I'm keeping you posted on gas prices in Eldon. $1.59 for unleaded and $2.39 for diesel. If you had asked me a year ago if I thought I'd EVER see gas below $2.00 a gallon I would have said "NO." Everything I read says that gas prices will go back up, but we're sure enjoying a break from the high prices now!!!! If we could only get prices at the GROCERY STORE to get back to normal, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW!!!!!!
We woke up yesterday morning to a pretty good dusting of snow. It melted fairly quickly, but snowed off and on most of the day. It really was beautiful, especially since it didn't stick to the roads. I love snow . . . as long as I don't have to get out in it. Just watching those big flakes fall really puts me in the Christmas spirit!!
