Another Gas Price Update

Gas prices in Eldon have DROPPED since my last "gas price update." Gasoline in Eldon, Missouri is now $1.69 per gallon, and diesel has dropped to $1.95 per gallon. However, this is the ONLY good news in Eldon as it was officially announced today that Lakeway Ford, the Ford dealership in Eldon is closing. So much for the stimulus package. I doubt it will EVER reach down to my level, or the level of the 25 people who used to work at Lakeway Ford.

#30 Cole Griffith!!!!!!!

Cole is on the JV basketball team for the Eldon Mustangs. Cole didn't get to play basketball this year until the end of January because of the concussion he got playing football on October 23, 2008. (Mama's don't let your babies grow up to play FOOTBALL!) He was out three months with headaches and dizziness. He is feeling fine now, but I realized I hadn't taken any pictures of him playing. So, here are pictures from Friday night, the last game of the season. I am sorry the pictures aren't that great. There is no WORSE place to take pictures than in a gymnasium. So, finally, here are some pictures of #30, Cole Griffith, the BEST LOOKING player on the team!!! We sure are proud of him!!!!!

Eldon Gasoline Prices

It's been a LOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG time since I've updated my out of town readers on the price of gasoline in Eldon, Missouri. Regular unleaded is now $1.79 per gallon and diesel is, unbelievably $1.99 per gallon. These prices have been the "going rate" for several weeks now. I keep reading that gas prices are going up but we haven't seen it yet. But, gas prices ALWAYS go up before Memorial Day and then stay up for the summer around here. I'll take $1.79 for as LONG as we can get it although, in my opinion, gas prices will be heading up again soon.

Alex's 13th Birthday

February 15th was Alex's 13th birthday. I can't believe my baby is 13. It seems like just last week when we brought her home from the hospital. Alex is really a blessing. She is beautiful and loving and just about the best kid anybody could ask for. I am so thankful to God for giving her to me to be my daughter.

For her birthday this year, Alex wanted to go to Springfield. We took Alex's friend, Amanda, and met up with Charity when we got there. The main reason Alex wanted to go to Springfield was THIS . . . . .

She wanted to go to PFI Western Wear to get these Ariat boots. These are the first pair she tried on and she LOVED them. I must say she looks pretty sharp in them -- a real FARM GIRL!!!!!

After leaving PFI we headed to the mall for a little bit of shopping, then on to Bass Pro.

Alex did a little target shooting in Bass Pro and she did a fantastic job. She is a natural marksman, or should I say marksWOMAN!!!

Alex and Amanda posing with the bear!

Then after a full day of shopping, well, us girls were HUNGRY. We had Alex's birthday dinner at Nakato Japanese Steakhouse. If you haven't eaten at Nakato, we would HIGHLY recommend it. The food is delicious and its very COOL to have the chef prepare your food right in front of you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!!!!!! We love you more than you will know until you have your own daughter someday. I love you! Mom

Lady Stangs Recognition

Last night the 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams were announced during halftime of the girls varsity game against Lincoln. Alex was, of course, the most beautiful girl on the court. The 7th grade ended their season with 12 wins and 4 losses, and the 4 losses were to two teams. I am really proud of Alex, and ALL the girls! Here's to a great season next year!!!!!

My Cousin Joe

On Sunday, my cousin Joe Chandler from Utah was in town. He had delivered a truck to his son, Alex, who is in the service on the East Coast (hooray for our troops!) and stopped by my Grandma Flo's for a little visit before he headed back home to Utah!

It was great to get to talk to him and catch up with his three boys, Clinton, Jesse and Alex! It was also nice to get to spend time with Grandma and some of my Aunts and other cousins!

Oh, and we ate too. Can't have a family get together without food!
