$3.79 PER GALLON

$3.79 is the price for one gallon of gasoline in Jefferson City.  $3.79.  In my opinion, this is absolutely ridiculous.  There is no shortage of oil.  There is no reason for gasoline prices to be this high, except for greed on the part of the oil companies.

I know there isn't anything we can do about it.  We have to buy it.  But, I just had to give my opinion.  Thanks for listening.

  1. I feel the same way you do. I haven't been out today, but as of last night, our gas was $3.65 per gallon. Pretty soon we won't be able to afford to go to the grocery store to by food we can't afford to buy either!

  3. They are hurting our already hurting economy. If you noticed when they did this a few years ago our economy went in the toilet but once it went down things started getting a little better. Now that things are a little better if they don't quit they'll take it right back into the toilet!

    ah, there's my rant :)

  8. Well you are still doing better than Canada where prices are $1.31 per litre which equals $5.24/gallon. This is when we start thinking about other modes of transportation like bicycle, motorcycle, scooters or the good old city bus.

  10. Gas is 3.65 in the small towns around us, but I saw 3.75 in Columbia. They know people travel more in the summer, so they've jacked up the prices. Makes me angry, but nothing we can do.

Why we are dependent on foreign oil anyway is beyond me...there's plenty of oil to be had in our country if they would just drill. Okay, I'd better shut up now.

  11. Just hit over $4 here and we have refineries within just a few miles, not to mention ports. I don't get it. Very frustrating!

  12. Yep, prices going up here and in snow country, you don't have a choice of subways and buses and often need the bigger, heavier vehicles to get around many of the roads here from oct/nov through mar/apr!! I joked about a scooter several years ago, but with kids, that's not a realistic option either! So we cut down on the unnecessary and then start cutting more. My blogging helps me to do a little traveling to visit friends without firing up the car!!
