Prayers Requested

Boy, it sure seems like lately I have asked my blogging friends to agree with me in prayer on a lot of things.  Aren't you thankful that the amazing God we serve is never too busy to hear our prayers?  Thank you Lord.

Today I have two prayer requests for you.  The first is for the little boy, Thomas, that I have requested prayers for before.  You may recall that Thomas was born with a heart defect, and he has had multiple surgeries in his short life (he will be two years old next week).  Well, Thomas had to have a heart procedure last week, and it did not go well.  So tomorrow the doctors are going to operate on Thomas and put an artificial valve in his heart.  This surgery has only been performed five times on someone as young as Thomas.  The doctors estimate that the surgery will take 10-12 hours.  So if you would, please be praying for Thomas tomorrow and for his parents.  I cannot imagine the fear and worry they must be feeling.

I would also request prayer for a cousin of mine name Chris.  Chris is in his mid-30s, is married and has two small childen.  He has battled Crohns disease for many years, again, having multiple surgeries.  Chris is in need of yet another surgery to attempt to repair a "pouch" that the doctors created to avoid his having to have his colon removed.  Unfortunately, his body is full of infection, and the doctors cannot operate until the infection is under control.

My friends I would ask that you agree with me in prayer for healing for Thomas and for Chris.  They are, in completely different ways, both very, very ill.  But I know that God is in control.  And I know that His Word tell us in James 5:16 that "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."  That tells me that when we who are made righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ pray, that God hears us.  That our prayers make a difference.  Today I am asking God to heal these two, and I ask, as Jesus did, for God's perfect will.

I appreciate your agreeing with me in prayer.  God bless you.
