And Away We Go!!!!

I'm really sorry folks.  My posts have been somewhat few and far between lately, and here I was going to do SO MUCH BETTER about posting more frequently in 2016.

So if you're reading this . . . thanks for sticking around.  I really do appreciate you.  I promise I still visit YOUR blogs, and even though I seldom comment (note to self -- comment more often!!!) I enjoy reading your thoughts and keeping up with what's going on in your lives.

My days go by so very quickly and I just don't have time (make time) to put a post on this little blog of mine.  I work full time and even with no kids at home anymore it seems I'm always busy.

So here goes . . . . a little catching up with me :)!!!

Our son and daughter-in-law have their house under contract and they're moving into another house.  A house that was in HORRIBLE shape.  The previous owners were heavy smokers (YUCK) and had WAY TOO MANY DOGS IN THE HOUSE.  Can I just say the smell nearly KNOCKED YOU DOWN when you opened the door!!  So we've spent hours and hours and hours cleaning and painting and now I'm pleased to say the house smells exactly like fresh paint and Pine-Sol!!  A lovely smell I might add.  We are hoping to get everything moved tonight.  And even though the house they are moving into isn't finished, they have to get everything out of their house by the weekend.  (They have carpet in the bedrooms and everything is painted on the mail level.  The flooring hasn't been installed in the living room/dining room, and they're gutting the kitchen soon!!)  And our daughter-in-law graduates from college on Saturday, her sister is flying in from out of state for the weekend, I'm heading out on Sunday (more on that in a bit) so we really are running out of time to get them moved.  The house is still in the same town, so they still only live about 5 minutes from us (hooray)!  We are very excited for them and know this will make a wonderful home for them . . . . for awhile.  Their goal is to buy a farm, and so they buy houses and fix them up and sell them to help them put together a down payment on a farm one day.  I'm thinking they'll live in this house for a couple of years.  It is much bigger than their current house, big yard, great location.  I'm very happy for them!!!

I'm flying to California on Sunday to drive back to Missouri with our daughter.  For security reasons I can't share specifics, but our son-in-law is leaving for a six month deployment (FREEDOM ISN'T FREE) and she is going to spend those six months living with us, working (she should find out about her internship next week!) and taking college classes.  They can save a ton of $$$$$ by her staying with us, and we are SO excited to have her back home with us for six months.  Then when our son-in-law returns we will move her back out to California where they will finish up his time in the military.  Please pray for a safe flight out to California, and for a safe drive back to Missouri.  It's a looooonnnnnnngggggggg way from the state of California to Central Missouri so all prayers are much appreciated.  My dad is actually flying out with me so Alex and I won't be two women alone on the road and I'm looking forward to spending that time with them.

Once we get back home and catch up on our sleep, we've got to get in gear for our FAMILY REUNION we have every two years, and this year it's in Missouri!!!  So my husband and I will be hosting about 100 people for a hog roast at our farm in June.  Needless to say the "honey-do" list is LONG!!!  Lots of cleaning up to do, and frankly this reunion FORCES US to take on some projects we've been putting off for a long time.  That is a GOOD THING!!!

So if you're still reading, please be praying for us this weekend, and pray for our son-in-law and all of our service men and women serving our country.  Pray for our country -- it is in a mess and only seems to be getting worse.

Blessings to each and every one of you!
