My beautiful cousin, Cammi, was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer back in January. She is 34 years old, a daughter, sister, wife and mother of four children.
Cammi completed 6 doses of chemotherapy a few weeks ago. She has tested positive for the "gene" that makes her cancer very aggressive, and very likely to return and spread. She is having a bilateral mastectomy next month, and her oncologist has recommend that she have a hysterectomy next year.
I would ask that you add this beautiful young woman to your prayer list. And if you feel led, visit her Go Fund Me page HERE to make a donation.
I believe we are to pray for healing. In the Book of James,
Chapter 5, it is written:
"Is
any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let
them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And
the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him
up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess
your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be
healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
That tells me that while we always seek God's will, it is OK to ask our God to heal those that are sick.
I've just finished reading "Forgotten God -
Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit" by
Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit" by
Francis Chan. Let me tell you it is eye opening. I'll expand on this in another post, but seriously, if you haven't read this book GET A COPY AND READ IT. It will change your life as a Christian.
And in case you're wondering, my sweet mama is BETTER! She is back home and still drinking those shakes and walking and exercising. Praise the Lord!! We continue to pray for complete healing in Jesus name and ask that you agree with us in prayer!! Remember, the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man (or woman) availeth much!!!
Blessings to you all!!!
Sending prayers right now. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteGlad your mother is better. Praying for much more for her, too. Exercising our faith in praying for those in need of prayer is what causes us to go to the Word of God doing this warfare with the enemy. No darkness in God. So we know that sickness-disease comes because of the enemy. No light in him. Plus, he was a murderer from the beginning. So our sword is the word of God. Our prayers, like incense, go before God. He hears us. He answers us. WE overcome by the word of our testimony and by the Blood of the Lamb.
ReplyDeleteAt times our prayers are heard but the answer gets delayed as with Daniel. There is a battle going on. Sometimes angels are doing battle against those tying to prevent the answer. So I am happy to see that your mother is improving. God is good! We trust Him. He never fails. Prayer is the MOST we can do.
I've just said a prayer for Cammi. And I'm keeping your mother in my prayers, too. So happy to hear that she's doing better!
ReplyDeleteHaven't talked in quite a while....but have prayed for your Momma and will continue. Also will pray for your cousin, Cammi. And take care of yourself too! Stress and worry can be hard so be good to yourself! Thinking of all your heartaches!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Tanya
I am praying for Cammi. God bless her. WHY this has to happen to a young mom (or anyone for that matter) really makes me wonder WHO is safe...and the answer is -- NO ONE! We are all a heartbeat away from serious adjustments in our life.
ReplyDeleteBlessings- xo Diana
There is nothing in the world like blackberry jam made when you pick the berries yourself.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday to you. I know it has been a long, hard year for you and you DO have the right to feel helpless and hopeless sometimes. It is our humanness that causes us to feel weak and discouraged sometimes.
I, too, am a very optimistic, "bright", energetic person but every once in a while I have one of those "this is too much" sort of days...but, it passes.
I hope you have a blessed weekend and you know I am praying for your Mom AND you AND your family because I know they have suffered, too. Love to you- xo Diana
