Missouri has the weirdest weather. I mean seriously. Here is the weather for the PAST week:
This past Monday and Tuesday, January 28 and 29, the temperature was in the 70s. Monday was simply gorgeous. Tuesday we had about two inches of rain. There were strong winds and thunder and lightning.
On Wednesday the 30th, it turned colder, highs in the 30s and we had snow flurries.
Yesterday, the 31st, it was COLD. Highs in the 20s with a few snow flurries.
This morning it is 9 degrees and sunny, headed for a high of 30.
By next week it is supposed to be back in the 50s.
I mean, seriously. Is it winter, or spring???
Only in Missouri can you expect this type of crazy weather. Extreme swings in temperature are the norm.
Last summer we had a drought. We have never recovered. Oh, the grass is green in the yard so people think the drought is over. It isn't. Our ponds and creeks are as low as I've seen them. And while I am so thankful for the two inches of rain we got earlier this week, we are still several inches below normal.
So we're praying for a warm, very WET spring here in Missouri.
And just to keep the facts and figures coming . . . . gasoline is $3.28 per gallon, up from $2.92 at election time . . . . .
Have a BLESSED DAY!!!!!
How great to keep all those numbers on your blog. It will be fun to look back in furture year to see what life in Mid-Mo was on that date!
ReplyDeleteKeep warm!
So interesting the 70s temps. It really is spring weather and I wonder if your trees and bushes are confused? When we have weird warm weather here, the magnolia park next to our development goes crazy with the promises of lots of color then those blossoms freeze when temps turn winter again. Those times we tend to lose a bush or two in the yard.
ReplyDeleteCT's weather has been just as crazy with the high's and low's. We can't keep it straight! Snow/Rain/Wind/Sun - Temperature ranges from mid 50's to below zero in less than a week's time!
ReplyDeleteI don't get it, but tomorrow is Groundhog Day and I'm heading to Punxsutawney - maybe he knows what is going on! :)
Of course gas dropped just to try and "show people" that the economy was getting better but it was a load of bull! and anyone who bought it. Ok sorry, not trying to be all political :). And yes, gotta love MO weather and if you don't, wait 30 minutes and it'll change.
ReplyDeleteI'd be excited at the $3.28. Gas was $3.29 last week and this week is up to $3.59. Can't win!
ReplyDeleteYou have had weird weather...ours is just boringly cool...sometimes rain, sometimes sun...gorgeous tonight though!
the weather has been the same here in southwest Virginia; now it's freezing cold, more snow expected and wind chills in the single digits below zero. I'm so cold and tired; farming in the cold sucks the life out of me.
ReplyDeleteOh the weather has been the same here in Ontario Canada.
ReplyDeleteOur gas right now is $1.32 a liter which takes four to make your gallon. It will be snowing here tonight so they say. I stopped believing the weatherman long ago. B
Hello, wonderful to visit your blog..What a great way to meet like minded women..Still working my way thru all the blogs..with all these talented women out there on this list it might take a while..
ReplyDeletelove your header!
Weather about the same in SW IN. Weatherman said we had every type of weather last week, tornado warnings, ice, snow, thunderstorms, warm weather and freezing temps.
ReplyDeleteWondering how you're weathering the storm...?
ReplyDeleteCrazy, huh? You'd think by now we'd be used to it, but not so much. We are so grateful for the rain and other precip we've gotten over the past few weeks. Every little bit helps. Our creek is no longer dry, and the ponds are looking much better. Praise God, and hope it keeps on raining! -Tammy
