Last night my dear hubby and I were watching a DVD. We are on the one-DVD-at-a-time plan from Netflix, and we got a new red package in the mail yesterday. So last night we sat down to watch a movie together, something we very seldom do.
Well, we get about 15 minutes into the movie, and it began to skip. And jump. And stop. And DVDs aren't supposed to do that.
My husband gets VERY FRUSTRATED when the DVD skips, and jumps and stops. So, I "googled" how to fix a DVD that skips and the first solution was TOOTHPASTE.
So I took the DVD out of the player, squeezed some good old Crest toothpaste onto it, took a cottonball and rubbed and rubbed. Then I rinsed it off with water, dried it, and put it back into the DVD player.
IT NEVER SKIPPED AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, just in case you were wondering if those rumors about toothpaste fixing a scratched DVD were true, I can report that it sure worked for me.
It's amazing what just a little toothpaste can fix!
LOL- I have done that, too, with the kids' dvds that seem to get scratched a bit or "gummy". I have also used plain old baking soda -when I was too lazy to go dig out the toothpaste.

I've patched nail holes in the wall with white toothpaste before I painted the wall!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your movie time my friend!!
