Family Time

Tomorrow we're heading back down south to Louisiana to visit family.  I love my Louisiana family!!  They are such awesome people.  We see them about this time every year, and have for the past four years.  We use Mardi Gras as an excuse.  Yes, we go to the parades and we catch beads!!  (And just in case you're wondering, NO, we don't go into New Orleans for Mardi Gras.  We stay out in the little towns and watch parades where no skin is involved in getting beads!)

We have crawfish boils and eat red beans and rice.

We devour Cajun beef jerky and boudin that we buy HERE at the Bourgeois Meat Market.

We eat fried catfish and potato salad.

We take Plantation Tours - (we're going HERE to Destrehan Plantation) .

Isn't that GORGEOUS!!!

But honestly it's not about the beads and parades, or about the food (well maybe a little bit about the food!)  It's about family!!!  It's about hugging my Aunt's neck.

It's about hanging out with the coolest cousins EVER!  These are SOME of my cousins last year at Nottaway Plantation!!

It's about listening to stories from years ago.  New stories.  Stories I've heard a thousand times but never get tired of listening to.  It's about spending time with my parents and my sisters.  Making memories.

Please keep us in your prayers as we head to Louisiana this weekend.  We'll be driving down there tomorrow and driving back on Monday.  Please pray for safe travels and for safety while we're gone.  And pray that God will give me opportunities to share Jesus!!

I'll have pictures next week!

  1. Hey, you'll be in my neck of the woods. I was born and raised and until 5 years ago lived just southeast of Baton Rouge. I know all those places you go on your visits. So excited for you to get to visit. I'll be checking in to see your pictures of your visit.
