Rollercoaster

When I posted about my mom last week the news wasn't very good .  My mom had a really tough weekend before last.  But this past weekend, Thanksgiving weekend, I'm happy to report was a completely different story.

My mom is better.  Much better than weekend before last.  She is eating and drinking more than she had been, and has regained a couple of the few pounds she lost (praise the Lord!).  In fact when she went Monday morning for her maintenance chemo the doctor and nurses were amazed at the difference just one week had made.

Her doctor has decided to let mom build up some strength before we proceed with the vertebroplasty (to fix the compression fracture in her back) and with pulling any teeth.  She did take her maintenance chemo Monday, and the side effects were minimal and we praise God for that.  We want her to have another week of eating and feeling better before we do anything else.

She does have an issue with her blood thinner and she needs your prayers for that.  She will get her blood tested again today and we're believing for a good report in Jesus name.

She does still have some pain from her back, but after they changed her pain meds it is better.  And her mouth is better too which has made it easier for her to eat.

So that said, PLEASE keep praying for her.  This is a long road and we still trust that God is in control.  It really is a rollercoaster ride, physically and mentally, for my mom and for our family.  We continue to stand upon God's Word that says by His stripes SHE IS HEALED.  We pray for that daily.   Mom feels better, but she never really feels "good."  Her strength has improved from weekend before last, but she is still weak.  Next week we hope to do the vertebroplasty for the compression fracture so we can get her off the pain medicine which will make her feel even better!  The teeth, well, the doctor is looking for another type of medicine to strengthen mom's bones so we don't have to get her teeth pulled anytime soon.  Our concern is the pain from the extractions will set her back a few days by making it painful to eat, and we're not at a point where she can afford to go several days without eating.

I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who is praying for my mom.  And I'm sure there are some of you reading this blog who say "prayer doesn't seem to be helping 'cause your mom is still sick."  We fix our eyes on Jesus.  Faith means trusting in what we don't yet see.  We don't see her complete healing, but we are trusting Jesus.  We believe He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Yes, we have days of being discouraged.  Just being honest.  But when the devil whispers his lies we CHOOSE TO STAND UPON THE WORD OF GOD.  WE ARE BLESSED BY THOSE WHO STAND WITH US AND REFUSE TO STOP PRAYING AND BELIEVING WITH US
FOR HER ABSOLUTE AND COMPLETE HEALING IN JESUS NAME.

May God bless you all.

  1. What ??? Stop praying...never !!!! We should pray for ever. Every prayer is helping in some way. people may never get well...but knowing others care enough to pray can help them be strong. Then with God's help from our prayers...we may see her healed , or at least improved as you just wrote. Stay strong honey, you know your faith. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie

  2. I was thinking about you today, and your mother. There are many, many prayers to God for restoration of health for her. By the measure of faith given to us by God Himself, tells us we each have faith. In prayer our faith is combined with all of us requesting healing for your mother. Faith grows! This has been a journey...and our prayers are stronger than at the start. God is faithful to answer our prayers. Answers will come. We watch, and pray.
Susie is right! Let us be richly encouraged knowing that God is in charge! He hears us. We are His children...He will answer us. Believe...watch and pray. God bless.

    1. We each do have faith, and faith is the key. We believe God for salvation, and we believe God for healing. Each is there, a free gift, we just have to BELIEVE it. 'Tis so sweet to TRUST IN JESUS!!!

  3. Please read this to the end. I am not a Christian. I am Pagan, but I want to add my prayers to the Goddess to help heal your Mother. I don't think it really matters what 'God' we pray to, as long as we acknowledge that there is a higher being than we weak and helpless humans. Please believe me, I will pray with all my heart and soul. I hope I haven't offended you

    1. Lesley - You have not offended me in the least. I appreciate your kind words for my mother. But my Bible tells me that there is only one God. And the only way to God is through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus is our Savior. I am praying for God to reveal Himself to you today. He is the only Higher Power and I put my trust in Him alone. I hope I have not offended you, but I must share the truth of the Gospel.

  4. Hi sister. Glad to know that your mom is able to eat better, get more strength and soon, be healed! Prayers are our lifeline to our good God as Christians. This morning...my devotion was from Mark 5:36... Jesus said..."Don't be afraid. Just have faith..." Faith indeed is the only antidote to our fears in this place! I have no words to express anything about what I feel from your guys' burden...But I know His Word is the only thing that has POWER! Stay strong in the Lord's mighty power! God bless and continue to guide you all and I believe the One Who raised Jesus from the dead is the same power in us!!!

    1. I will admit that I struggle with fear and doubt when I take my eyes off of Jesus. His Word reminds me that He is in control and NOTHING is too difficult for Him. Thank you so much for agreeing with us in prayer for complete healing in the mighty name of Jesus.
