More Deer Hunting

Well, gun season is over for this year and neither Cole or Alex got a deer. They had a lot of fun HUNTING for deer, just no SHOOTING of deer. There is another youth season January 3rd and 4th, so you can bet they'll be out there searching for that big buck again.

$1.79 UPDATE $1.69

Yes, it's true. Gasoline in Eldon, Missouri is $1.79 (NOW ITS $1.69). Diesel is $2.49. This is the lowest gas has been here since probably 2005. The bad news is, the stock market, and my retirement fund, is going down faster than gas!!!!! DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH MORE I THINK IT CAN GO DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FFA Chapter Degree

Last night Cole, and 82 other FFA second year members, was awarded the FFA Chapter Degree. He was also installed as a junior officer Second Vice-President. FFA is THE club at Eldon High School. It is a great organization and Alex can't wait until she is in high school so SHE can be an FFA member too!

Yes, for those readers of this blog who don't live in Mid-Missouri, gasoline dropped to $1.99 over the weekend. Diesel is $2.79 which is still outrageous, but a far cry from the $3.89 for gasoline and $4.69 for diesel that we were paying just a few months ago!!! Hopefully with the October stock market crash and presidential election behind us, the economy will begin to improve.

Youth Hunt

This weekend was the Missouri youth hunt for all hunters age 15 and younger. Billy Paul and I and Cole and Alex got up WAAAAAAYYYY before the sun came up both Saturday and Sunday morning, and then watched the sun go down Saturday night and Sunday night scouring Griffith land for big bucks. Alas, we only saw ONE buck and he wasn't that big. We saw several does and honestly had a great family time. The weather was absolutely perfect, but I think the fact that it was so warm kept the "big one" back in the woods. Regular hunting season starts in two weeks so we'll be catching up on our sleep until then.
