Please Keep Praying!

Today we are waiting on the radiologist to read the x-ray of Alex's ankle to give us the final word on whether or not her ankle is fractured.

The nurse practitioner told us Friday afternoon that the ankle was fractured.

Friday evening our doctor looked at the x-ray and he said he does NOT think the ankle is fractured.

So today, a radiologist who does nothing BUT look at x-rays will give us the final word.

We are believing for healing, and praying that the ankle is just sprained.

But we want God's will.  Please keep on praying!!!  Thank you so much!!

Prayers Requested for Alex!

At Thursday evening's volleyball game Alex went down in the first few moments of the game.  And she didn't get up right away.

My heart sank as she rolled over with a look of pain on her face.  Her coach helped her over to the sidelines and play resumed.  I waited as long as I could before walking to the other side of the gym.  You know how kids are.

By the time I got to Alex her left ankle was already swollen incredibly and she was in a lot of pain. The trainer for the school we were visiting was very nice, got us some ice, and wrapped her ankle.  Alex didn't go back into the game.

One of the nice things about living in a small town . . . our doctor is also our friend.  So I called him when we left the ballgame and he told me to bring Alex by his house (THANK YOU DOC).  So there we were, 10 p.m., at our doctor's home so he can examine Alex's left ankle.

He is fairly certain it is just a bad sprain, which will involve ice, ibuprofen, and staying off of it for a few days. However, just to be cautious, he wants Alex to have an x-ray on Friday to make sure there isn't a fracture.  Please no fracture.

Please be praying for Alex and her ankle.  She is in a lot of pain and it is very swollen. Of course, we do not want her ankle to be broken.  If it is a break, she will be off of her ankle for 4-6 weeks and miss the bulk of her junior year of volleyball.  We are praying for just a sprain that gets well VERY QUICKLY.  However, always, always we want our Lord's will.

I believe that everything happens for a reason.  Sometimes we find out what the reason is.  Most of the time we don't.  I can't think of a good reason for Alex to injure her ankle in the second week of the season.  But I trust our God.

Thank you very much for lifting Alex before the Lord.  I pray for the swelling to go down, and for the pain to subside, and for a good report from the x-ray.  I pray for the Lord to heal that ankle, in Jesus name. Thank you for your prayers.
