Happy Life

I agree with this saying, but one thing is missing.  Jesus.

Knowing Jesus is the only way to a happy life.  The other sentiments are nice, but they aren't eternal.  Jesus is eternal.

Hebrews 12:1-2 says:  "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

So on this cold snowy January, look to Jesus.  He wants to be your EVERYTHING.  Trust Him.

Continue to Pray

My friend's husband was taken off of life support this morning.

My friend is a widow at 49 years old.

He leaves behind 4 children, and 4 grandchildren.

He was 56 years old.

I am heartbroken for my friend.

Please pray.

Serious Prayers Needed

Early last week the husband of a friend of mine went to urgent care.  He was sick with a bad cold, and was given antibiotics, steroids and cough medicine.  My friend came down with a cold over Christmas, and her husband was no better, so they both went to urgent care last Friday.

When the doctor examined her husband, his oxygen levels were found to be very low and he was transported to the hospital by ambulance.  Once at the hospital, they diagnosed him with pneumonia in both lungs and admitted him to the hospital.

Folks, it has gone downhill from there.

He was transferred to ICU on Sunday in critical condition.

On Tuesday they discussed transferring him to another hospital but his condition was too critical and they did not believe he would survive the transport.

Yesterday they found a small hole in one of his lungs and while trying to insert a chest tube his blood pressure dropped dangerously low.  They had to vent him, and sedate him.

He is now on a ventilator and they have inserted two chest tubes.  This afternoon he developed a fever of 105 degrees.

This man needs your prayers.  He needs prayers for healing.  I do not know if he is a Christian

Please, right now, take a few minutes and pray for this man.  He is 56 years old, and is the father of two daughters and two sons.  Pray for his family as well.  They need comfort and peace that only Jesus can give.

Cows

Our cows are pretty tame.  Actually they are VERY tame.  Most of them my husband can pet.  Oh, there are a few unfriendly ones out there, but for the most part they love my husband.  And here's why - - - he feeds them.  From the truck.

They just love wet distillers grain.  They even lick their lips it tastes so good.

Here is the red cow in there trying to get every single drop.

I love cows.

My Christian Commitment

I came across this over the weekend and just had to share it.  I believe these are words to live by.  I hope it challenges you.  It has certainly challenged me.  And, I want to thank you for praying for my mom.  Please continue to pray.  Her blood pressure remains very high.  We know that our God is THE HEALER.

My Christian Commitment

I am a part of the fellowship of the unashamed.  I have Holy Spirit power.  The die has been cast.  I have stepped over the line.  The decision has been made.  I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.

I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still.  My past is redeemed.  My present makes sense.  My future is secure.

I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, worldly talking, cheap giving and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position, promotions or popularity.  I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded.  I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor by His power.

My pace is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my Guide reliable, and my mission clear.  I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder in the pool of popularity or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won’t give up, back up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and preached up for the cause of Christ.  I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.  I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know and work till He stops me.

And when He comes to get His own, He will have no problem recognizing me.  My banner will be clear.

Buy American and a Prayer Request!!

If you get a chance this year, PLEASE consider buying American.  Even if it costs a dollar or two extra.  The benefits to our country and our economy are priceless! Visit Shopfolk.us

Also, I would appreciate your prayers for my mother.  Her blood pressure has been very high for the last couple of weeks, and the blood pressure medicine doesn't seem to help at all.  She went back to the doctor today and they think it might be something with her kidneys and she will go for an ultrasound this week.  Please pray for her complete healing in Jesus name.  Pray for the Lord to send peace over her.  Pray for her blood pressure to be normal.

Thank each and every one of you for praying!!  Blessings to you!!!!
